Battel Black Iron Mortice Door Knob Furniture Ref: 32-2131 This popular Oval Pattern Mortice Door Knob features a traditional pressed steel rose and escutcheons. The smooth black cast iron finish of this door knob will add an authentic period charm to any home and is an excellent choice where a functional, less rustic look is required. Knob 2 1/2" x 1 1/2" (64mm x 38mm) Rose 2 3/8" dia (60mm) Mortice application Door Knobs are designed to suit locks or latches concealed (morticed) within the edge of the door. Important: For Mortice applications we would always recommend a suitable lock or latch with a minimum backset measurement of 57mm to avoid rapping your knuckles on the door frame. This is the measurement from the edge of the door to the centre of the knob when fitted. You should consider increasing this measurement when fitting larger knob diameters or where the frame stop is greater than the normal 12mm.
