General Information

Our Door Knob Handles are supplied to suit either Rim Locks/Latches (locks and latches fitted to the face of the door) or Mortice Locks/Latches (locks and latches morticed in to the edge of the door).

Important: For Mortice applications we would always recommend a suitable lock or latch with a minimum backset measurement of 57mm to avoid rapping your knuckles on the door frame. This is the measurement from the edge of the door to the centre of the knob when fitted. You should consider increasing this measurement when fitting larger knob diameters or where the frame stop is greater than the normal 12mm.

Lever Type Door Handles on Backplate are designed to suit 99% of UK locks with a standard "centres" measurement of 48mm (the distance between the centre of the square spindle hole and the centre of the upper part of the keyway).

When ordering Lever Type Door Handles please ensure that you select the correct function:
Latch - no keyhole
Lock - with keyhole
